Outrageous doubt, on Vishwanathan Anand’s Nationality

Filed under: IndianGovt, Shame — Ranganathan @ 12:21

Viswanathan Anand:

Oh, did we award him Arjuna Award in 1985, Padmasri award in 1987, Rajiv Gandhi award in 1992, Padma Bhushan in 2000 & Padma Vibhushan in 2007, all without checking his nationality?

It is a shame on our government. Anand should wait till they award it, go to the stage and then decline the PhD ‘on stage’. After all, every useless Tom-Dick-Harry has a honorary PhD in this glorious nation.

Why didn’t the Ministry make noise when he was hailed by our media for winning the world chess championship in 2007, 2008, & in 2010, just a few months back.

When he came back, did our immigration officials just welcome him after getting his autograph on a 100Rs note?

Oh yes, these people are all Indians, but we have a doubt with Viswanathan Anand’s nationality.

  • Sonia Gandhi
  • Lakshmi Mittal
  • Indra Nooyi
  • Hinduja Bros
  • Mira Nair
  • Deepak Chopra
  • Manoj Shyamalan
  • Nikki Haley
  • Kalpen Modi
  • Bobby Jindal

I quote my roommate on this, “Had Sachin Tendulkar’s name had got stuck in similar issue…” . Oh yes, the entire nation would rise up, on the streets, for doubting the nationality of ‘God’.

Ha ! Great nation, great ministers, Great Shame !

Expecting a very stern editorial on The Hindu tomorrow. Today’s one on Stone Henge was a pure gap-filler, I’d say.
